Grimes and Co. Homestead

Sustainable Living, One Backyard at a Time

About Grimes & Co. Homestead

Growing Food, Growing Community

Grimes & Co. Homestead is more than just a backyard garden—it’s a journey toward self-sufficiency, sustainability, and sharing knowledge with others. What started as a simple experiment in a kiddie pool has evolved into a thriving homestead with chickens, composting systems, rainwater collection, and a passion for teaching others how to grow their own food.

Why We Homestead

In 2020, supply chain disruptions made me question how dependent we’ve become on grocery stores and large-scale food systems. That moment sparked a realization: if I could grow food with little knowledge in a small backyard, then anyone could. Homesteading isn’t about having acres of land—it’s about using what you have, learning through trial and error, and building a more resilient life.

What We Do

At Grimes & Co. Homestead, we focus on:

  • Backyard Gardening & Food Production – Growing vegetables, herbs, and raising chickens in an urban setting.

  • Composting & Regenerative Systems – Turning waste into valuable resources for the garden.

  • Education & Community Engagement – Offering tours, workshops, and online content to help others start their homesteading journey.

  • Sustainability & DIY Solutions – Finding creative ways to repurpose materials and reduce waste.

A Real & Unfiltered Approach

I don’t claim to be an expert—I’m just a regular guy figuring things out as I go. My goal is to show the successes and the failures so that others can learn alongside me. Whether you have a sprawling farm or a small backyard, homesteading is possible, and I want to help you get started.

Join me in growing food, raising animals, and rethinking what’s possible in your own backyard.

Welcome to Grimes & Co. Homestead!
